With love from Tokyo

Ah Tokyo...a city without magnificent buildings, bridges, landmark skyline, yet so captivating. 3 weeks in Beijing, Shanghai, and Tokyo, as a Chinese, I, for the first time, first handed experienced Japan as a developed country, and Tokyo, as a city with class. I had never felt so much culture shock that I was feeling at Tokyo, before Tokyo. I am back in bay area now, yet, my heart was left in Tokyo, along with my umbrella of love.

It must be the people.

It must be the subway.

It must be the silent, yet busy streets.

It must be the never ending cross road foot traffic.

It must be that Japanese girl who sat next to me, with the elegant, well thought out matching color/fabrics/makeups among her, her belongings.

It must be that Japanese waitress who recommended another restaurant and walked me to that location.

It must be the eagerness of well dressed Japanese people to help foreigners.

Outsiders are kept outside mercilessly by the language, while insiders live the pure bred, pristine stage of a culture that has apparently be cultivated carefully for thousand of years.

Ah Tokyo, I will be back.
