4 weeks in between, much has happend

I finished my first triathlon at avid wildflower even taking place from May 2nd to May 4th. China suffered the heaviest earthquake in three decades and 50k people feared dead. I am on my way to donate limited money ($100) for Chinese red cross.

It's difficult to understand the extent of this destruction when I was thousands of miles away from China without accessing the real time report. It reminded me the great escape my whole family experienced during the late 70s when earthquake news hit Nanjing: my parents grabbed me and my sister in the arms and rushed downstairs and lived in the tent on the streets for the night. It was horrifying.

I flew to Seattle immediately after the wildflower festival, then drove two hours to Vancouver to for my visa Interview. Vancouver has changed much since 3 years ago when Yuhui and I visited. US dollar worths less than Canadian dollar, everything seems to be more expansive than San Francisco's price. High rise building construction was everywhere, I stayed in Downtown YMCA hotel, a very nice yet modest retreat. It's beautiful out there. But I definitely felt at home in San Francisco. It feels much more like a place called home.
