Stumble upon

It's a no-brainer that stumble-upon is the best tool out there to discover interesting websites. It's become an entertaining activity for me when I get tired at work and need a minute to relax. Sometimes though, the websites that I came across are so funny, addictive, interesting, that I spent way too much time on it. Here is an example: onemorelevel.com and check out the links on the website: a lot of addictive flash game.

Virginia Tech

I opened up browser Monday morning horrified by the tragedy at VT. 32 people were killed, in America's college! This can not be happening. This is America, where human rights are respected, human life is deemed as sacred. Cho, the 23 years old South Korean immigrants boy, killed all 32 people, and took his own life, almost full 8 years after Columbine high shooting: I clearly remembered that morning when I was still a 20 something college student at New Mexico, getting ready for graduate school at Stanford in that coming fall.

I took the chance listening to the news while at work, could not hold my tears, a bit embarrassing when co-workers came to ask questions.

Tuesday is the day for my west coast swing class at Stanford, I went, not feeling on top of my game, I was interested in seeing the students' reaction to the tragedy. No-one mentioned the killing, everyone just tried to live the life the normal way. That girl smiled at me again while I was walking into the classroom, like last week, I was greeted immediately by another lady asking to be the dance partner. Swing dance somehow always has more women than men. Swing dance is my thing, but I do find the steps hard to follow, before one can set his/her mood in.

On the news, it's all Virginia Tech, it's all shooting tragedy, I wonder how Gordon is doing, he got his phd from VT recently.

Strangely, I came across blog "fragments from Floyd" through Scribd.com, just three days ago, it's a blog about the Virginia's natural beauty and peaceful community life, just two days later, a tragedy like this took place. Is there any sixth sense? Could this just be happening?

Dreamer and doer

I discontinued my title as "organizer" at a groupmingle for professional singles on meetup.com, since March, since my interest is really not organizing event. Amazingly, other people quickly stepped up to fill the position and the group is growing stronger than ever. He even hosted the first event where 100 people attended at bubble lounge, which is obviously this venue. Looking for venue is always a problem when I was organizer. In this case, I failed as an organizer, I merely became a dreamer who dreams about everyone comes to my website, my parties, but does not know how to get people do that. Ahmad, the new organizer, is the man, the doer. He knows how to sell the concept of being single: Let me suggest a toast "to being single, seeing double, and sleeping triple". What is slogan! That is creativity.

Before that, I have been hard at work to recruit a technical partner and came across this awesome article.

Fools day 2007

Techcrunch posted news of acquiring fuckedcompany.com yesterday, I read it, commented it, completely forgot it's actually just a april 1 fool's day joke. So is Google. It came with a TiSP and Gmail print "product release" today, reminding me Google Romance a year ago.

I was reading current issue of Stanford magazine, found a 22 yr old female white rapper who is still a Stanford student, kfray.com. She's got some serious beats going on, I like it a lot!

On the other note, class 1994 from Stanford is turning big 35 years old, many weddings, many new borns. I wonder where I am heading to.
